Super Hero party that is!
Now that school is officially over for the year, I can now shift my focus back to creating. And my first order of business is creating a super party for my little Super Sophia. She's almost 4 (June 18), but her actual friend party is on June 9th...which is quickly approaching.
I decided after seeing many ideas on Pinterest that I'd make a cityscape to decorate the cake table. I just started by collecting boxes (cereal, crackers, and packages from Amazon). I bought black wrapping paper at Party City and wrapped them up. If you do this, I highly recommend using double stick tape. I started this project and soon realized that it was a must and we were without. So I ended up using a tape runner but who wants to waste valuable tape runner on something that will be going in the trash??
Then I used my paper cutter to cut squares and rectangles out of yellow paper and glued them down with glue stick to be the windows.
I added the super heros from Amazon. I got these because they coordinated with her invitation and could stand up all by themselves.Plus, Sophia loves action figures and Russell loves comic book stuff too.
This year, I've really been trying to let Sophia be involved in the party decision making process. She chose the theme (originally she wanted to have a Spiderman party, then it was an X-man party, so I suggested we just call it a super hero party so that we could include all of her favorites). On a side note, the reason she's choosing this super hero theme is because she is slowly but surely becoming a daddy's girl. Each night, they'll watch an episode of either Spiderman or X-men together. But she still loves her princess stuff too.
Now I've gotta go work on the banner!
