Happy Fall!!!!

This past Saturday and Sunday, we were crafting up a storm at the Kaminski Household. I made this pillowcase last year before Sophia used a pillow (got the idea via my friend Kristy over at The No-No Room). I plan on changing out her pillowcases for every major Holiday. Thanks Kristy!

Next up, decorating some fake pumpkins with ribbon and fringe. I'd seen these all over Pinterest and blogs. Seemed easy and it was!

Next, candy corn vases. I'd also seen these all over Pinterest and blogs and once again....super easy! And cheap! A few Goodwill vases at about 50 cents each and spray paint!
Then I decided to try vinyl and my Cricut out. I cut out the letters and shapes. Stuck them to these jars (2 of them are spaghetti jars) and spray painted them.

I turned a vase upside down to get this ghost.

I also broke out the Halloween countdown calendar that Sophia loved so much last year. I just need to stick candy on each square with double sided tape. Thanks Kristy for another great idea!!!

We're almost ready for Fall. Just a couple of more things to put together and I'll post pics of the finished, put together look. Happy Fall!!!

Chore Chart Updated

I finally finished her chore chart to my satisfaction. I just wasn't digging the way I handled the chore title at the top so I punched some holes and strung it up on ribbon. I added some coordinating ribbon tied on for color and texture.

Now it's ready to be put into action!

Chore Chart

I finally got around to making a chore chart for Sophia. YEA!!!! I have yet to implement it, but I'm hoping it works.
I found this 18 x 18 white scalloped magnetic board at Hallmark of all places. I had a 20% off coupon (the original price was $22). So I felt like I got a pretty good deal. The green swirls are magnets holding the paper in place.

To make the magnets, I found clip art at http://homeschoolercreations.com. Then I used my 1 inch circle punch to cut the clip art out.

Then I got the glass circular pieces found in the floral section of craft stores (usually) and used Glossy Accents to glue the clip art to the back of the glass pieces.

Eventually I used a hot glue gun to attach a magnet to the back of each glass piece.

Next up, I used a 12 x 12 piece of scrapbook paper that coordinated with her room and glued pieces of rick-rack on there to divide the paper into 2 sections. I used Zip Dry for my adhesive.

I added ribbon into the holes around the magnetic board. I added a banner at the top that says Chores, but I think I might change that. Nothing on the board is permanent.

I used my Cricut machine to cut all the letters.

An d the best part, is that it came with this stand so that I can set it down low, at Sophia's level.

Now to implement the chart!!!
