Here's an idea for a Valentine's Day t-shirt. I saw it on another blog and I can't for the life of me remember which one. So if you've already seen this, it was probably on that blog.
Get a package of doilies (I got these at Michael's).
Get a paperclip or something else with a small tip to poke through all the dots on the doily that need to come out (you'll see when you get your package, some of the pieces that aren't supposed to be there, are there).
Get a white t-shirt. I got this one at Walmart for $2.
And get some fabric paint, sponge brush, regular paintbrush, painters tape and something to go inside the shirt so that the fabric paint won't soak through.
Tape the doily in the center. My tape is placed right underneath the sold heart in the middle.
Start sponging on the paint. Make sure you cover the whole thing do this gently so as not to move the doily (I used an up and down motion rather than side to side).
I used a regular paintbrush to go around the outside edge.
Here's the fabric paint I used. I got this at Walmart for maybe $3.
After you finish painting, make sure your hands are clean and start to remove the doily, very gently. I don't think I'd let it dry on there.
And here's the result. Pretty cute! Sophia will wear this on Pink and Red Day at school.
The bottle of fabric paint I used said to pre-wash your fabric.

That's super cute! I wouldn't have thought a doily would have worked so well as a stencil!
I love this idea. I think Emily needs one!
Greatness! I don't know that my hands are as steady as yours. Yours came out perfect! I bet mine would be a gloppy mess.
Janelle- if you read this, it would be cool to try this with bleach! (Janelle and I are always looking for more ways to do the bleach technique. ;)
Wow! That is really cute! I am afraid I would just make a huge mess though. I have issues with paint, lol! Which is why I sew ;)

I saw this picture and thought - cute but I bet its way complicated - but I was wrong! What a great way to use a doily to create an adorable t-shirt! I love it! Thanks for sharing!
So adorable and made with love!
